The tallest building in the United Kingdom, topped by a flashing aircraft-warning light, is visible from almost any high vantage point in Greater London. Cesar Pelli's 235-metre tower is home to major international companies and several major national newspapers and has become a symbol of the regeneration of London's Docklands: most Londoners refer to it simply as 'Canary Wharf'. If you happen to be in the area, it's well worth going for a close look at both the grandeur of the architecture and the spectacular bad taste of the marble-clad lobby.
