A trip to Hatton Garden is a rite of passage for any newly engaged couple but it can also be a confusing one. With so many jewellery stores packed into this patch of Farringdon, it's difficult for said new-comers to know which shops are worthy of their investment. This shop, owned by Nicholas James Fitch and specialising in rings, is a good place to start. Designs are original and come from a variety of national and international jewellers while the minimalist lay-out means you avoid the confusion of too many sparklers glinting for your attention. Also worth visiting is the nearby Nicholas James Gallery at the location of their original jewellery shop at 9 St Cross Street, EC1N 8UB.
