This £4.5 million state of the art cycling centre built by the London Development Agency opened in August 2008 as the first sporting facility to result from the 2012 Olympics. There are plenty of ways to get peddling with a 2km road circuit, built for bike racing, training as well as casual users, and a 4km mountain bike track. In fact, anything on wheels is welcome - rollerblading, slalom skateboarding, cycling clubs and running/cycling competitions can be accommodated. Open to all and affordable, there are road, mountain and BMX bikes available for hire on-site (though you will need proof of ID, address and a £50 deposit to hire them). Find the cycling centre at the top end of Forest Road, past the Hainault Industrial Estate and opposite the cemetery.
