FatherlandFatherland is an "excellently staged" (The Guardian) show about contemporary fatherhood in all its complexities and contradictions. Created by Frantic Assembly's Scott Graham, Karl Hyde from Underworld and playwright Simon Stephens, this collage of words, music and movement performed by a 13-strong cast explores identity, nationality, masculinity and contemporary fatherhood in all its complexities. "This thrilling play about three sons who go home to their dads - and their childhoods -shows verbatim theatre's power to heed the forgotten" said Michael Billington reviewing Fatherland after it premiered at Manchester International Festival in 2017. This London premiere, at Lyric Hammersmith, is part of the LIFT Festival.

About Lyric Hammersmith

Frank Matcham's velvet and gilt theatre was saved from demolition - following a public outcry - by being carefully dismantled, moved from its location further down King Street and then rehoused on its current site. As a consequence, the Lyric Hammersmith's gorgeous Victorian auditorium is housed in a severely utlitarian concrete cube, above Kings Mall shopping centre. More about Lyric Hammersmith
