The Pimm's Garden: Flat Iron Square

Pimm's and summer go hand-in-hand so it makes perfect sense that the drinks brand is taking over Flat Iron Square with a very summery pop-up, The Pimm's Garden. Transforming the space into a traditional English garden, the venue has been filled with striped deckchairs, picnic benches, flower garlands and an Insta-friendly flower wall - the perfect setting to enjoy a jug of the quintessential summer tipple. Visitors can partake in a number of free garden games including corn hole, garden Jenga and mini tennis, and major sporting events like the Wimbledon Championships will be shown on a big screen. Alongside the classic Pimm's No.1 with lemonade and a fruit garnish, the drinks menu includes the Pimm's Spritz with lemonade and sparkling wine; Pimm's No.6 (Vodka Cup) with botanical tonic or citrus tonic; and Pimm's ice pops.

If you can't get to SW14 the canalside steps next to Granary Square in King's Cross offer a welcome alternative - surely one of the more scenic spots in London for watching Wimbledon. Showing all the on court action with live coverage on the big screen, Granary Square has the added advantage of KERB street food at lunchtimes (Wednesday to Friday) and Prosecco, cold beers and soft drinks from the Summer Love bar. Serving distance from Coal Drops Yard, you're spoilt for choice with all the bars and restaurants that have cropped up in the past year. Choose from an aperitivo in Vermuteria, small bites in Hicce, grills on the outdoor terrace at Parrillan or deli sandwiches from Bodega Ritas. There are plenty of spots for a picnic, both on the square and steps themselves and, if you stick around after the match, you can settle in for a free open air movie thanks to Everyman Cinema's Summer Love free open-air film festival.

From 31st May to 23rd July Wembley Park welcomes the warmer months with Summer's Here, a series of outdoor events, summer screenings, live music, theatre and sport. 'Summer on Screen' shows free outdoor screenings in Arena Square where you can enjoy the Wimbledon Finals from the comfort of a deck chair. Films like A Star is Born and Mamma Mia as well as sporting events like the ICC Cricket World Cup and Tour de France are also part of the celebrations which extend to International Busking Day, on 20th July. Head to nearby Boxpark Wembley for street food, bars and special events including Hip hop Karaoke, ComedyMania and ticketed screenings of the sports.

Eccleston Yards, a new creative and co-working hub with an outdoor courtyard, five minutes' walk from Victoria station, hosts a series of summer events including Wimbledon screenings, outdoor yoga and live music. Every Saturday in June unsigned musicians perform live, so you can enjoy soul and blues or indie pop on a summer's evening. During Wimbledon fortnight, from 1st to 14th July, you can enjoy free screenings from deck chairs in the courtyard. Nearby restaurant Wild by Tart provides the pop-up bar from noon each day while The Jones Family Kitchen has created a special 'Strawberry Smash' dessert and A.S.Jones rhubarb gin based cocktail, a tribute to tennis ace, Ann Shirley Jones.

Head to Television Centre for Wimbledon screenings and specially themed cocktails at Bluebird Cafe. The screenings are part of twelve weeks of sports on the big outdoor screen. The free events run from June until September and include live screenings of the football, cricket and tennis. In addition, just 100 metres up the road, at White City Place, there's more big screen action with headline sporting action as well as live screenings from the Royal Opera House.

British Summer Time Hyde Park is back for a seventh year in 2019 and Wimbledon will be shown on the big screen from 12pm every day. Mid-week, between two weekends of big gigs, Hyde Park becomes Open House - four days of free open-air movie nights and Wimbledon screenings, street food stalls, daytime DJs, live music and entertainment. There's plenty of family fun and you can join the circus school for free. Bring a picnic blanket, grab a spot on the grass and you can even buy some refreshments from the street food market and pop up bars - serving from midday onwards.

On the roof of One New Change in the City they're showing all the Centre Court action live from Wimbledon on the big screen, with the domed roof of St Paul's Cathedral as the backdrop. The rooftop at One New Change is transformed into a gorgeous green escape this summer with grass-like seating and a specially designed illuminated butterfly installation. With a wingspan measuring more than three metres, the beautiful butterfly will light up the London skyline. Relax enjoy rooftop tipples as the ever-popular sport-on-screen returns to the City.

Picnic hampers and a pop-up bar from Partridges add a touch of luxury to watching the Wimbledon finals at Duke of York Square, one of London's more genteel green spaces. For one weekend only, the big screen is set up on the grass of the running track where you can pre-book VIP seating to enjoy a front row deck chair. Alternatively, lay down a picnic blanket and pick up some delicious food and drink from the surrounding restaurants and stalls. Pretty Little Tea Company is serving Prosecco, Pimms and Peroni as well as tea, coffee and homemade cakes on both Friday and Sunday, with Partridge's annual pop-up bar returning on Saturday. Refresh yourself with a tipple from the roof garden bar where tonic brand Franklin & Sons has partnered with Portobello Road Gin to give you sparkling drinks made with rosemary, pink grapefruit and rhubarb flavoured tonic. Wimbledon screenings take place from 12noon daily from 1st to Sunday 14th July, the whole two weeks the Wimbledon Championship is on. Pull up a deckchair and watch some world class tennis live on the big screen in W6. As well as showing the prestigious Grand Slam tennis tournament the big screen will be used to stream opera live from the Royal Opera House and for outdoor screenings of Mamma Mia!

With its canalside location, Merchant Square is a lovely place to relax and soak up the sun while watching Wimbledon. On the lawn in front of the Merchant Square Pavilion in Paddington Basin a big 5 x 3 metre screen shows every game, set and match on-court and there's seating for over 100 people plus free deckchairs and blankets. In well-to-do Belgravia, Motcomb Street's Halkin Arcade is serving up everyone's favourite tennis tournament this July, with Wimbledon live on the big screen in the newly refurbished garden space. From 11am-8pm each day visitors will be able to relax on deck chairs in the arcade while enjoying a glass of Pimm's and strawberries as well as soft drinks provided by Mosimann's, the private dining club favoured by the Royals - it has held a warrant for over 15 years and chef, Anton Mosimann, oversaw the menu for Kate and William's wedding.

The elevated terrace of Brown Hart Gardens, hidden in plain sight between Oxford Street and The Beaumont Hotel, plays host to a temporary outdoor screening for the whole of the Wimbledon Championships, from 1st to 14th July. Take time out from shopping, working and the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street, pull up a deck chair and watch the tennis, streamed live from the hallowed lawns of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to the heart of Mayfair. Free to enter, the screenings are shown from 11am until 8pm every day of the tournament. Located off Duke Street and moments away from Selfridges, you'll discover an unexpected haven of relaxation and socialising amongst Mayfair's boutiques, restaurants and bars.

On top of Tobacco DockSkylight offers an elevated perspective on Wimbledon. Not only are they showing every game, set and match - against a skyline of The Shard, The Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie - you can also take part in urban lawn games, grab a drink at the bar and lounge around on day beds or in garden booths. All the Wimbledon action is shown on various different screens but if you really want to concentrate on every line call head to level 9 where the games are displayed with the sound on. For the finals, they're throwing a Wimbledon party with live screenings and full sound on every screen. Strawberries and Champagne are, naturally, the order of the day. Entry is free but table bookings are recommended during the finals weekend.
